Come Together

Designer: WINCH DESIGN

When Winch Design was tasked with creating the bespoke interior of the first hull of the new Amels 60 range, named Come Together, artisan crafted bespoke lighting was a key part of creating interiors that would complement her exterior spaces with geometric references being drawn inside. Come Together’s exteriors were penned by Espen Øino. She is powered by hybrid technology and can comfortably accommodate 12 guests and 13 crew for a range of up to 4,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 13knots.

When it came to the lighting this was interpreted in the various interior spaces with the kind of unique details that run through Winch’s work. Winch’s team took the exterior geometric angles and softened the shapes by combining them with organically inspired forms, resulting in an interior that feels beachy and relaxed with a subtle masculine edge and selected a warm, organic colour palette and materials such as steamed formed timber, silk, velum, leather and brass.

Jim Dixon, Winch Design’s Managing Partner and Creative Director, Yachts & Aviation said “Having worked with Dernier & Hamlyn previously we knew we could call on them to design and manufacture bespoke lighting that would play a positive role in creating the harmonious custom interiors our client wanted. In common with all aspects of the interiors, the lighting has, for the most part, been crafted from pure and natural materials.”

Dernier & Hamlyn manufactured pentagon shaped softened edged brass and velum pendants ranging from 500mm to 1m in diameter creating a focal point in the dining room, silk shaded anemone shell referenced pendants for the saloon and wooden table lights clad in leather for the study amongst various other pieces of light art.
