International luxury hotel and restaurant brand Nobu looked to imbue an atmosphere of timeless elegance across its newest property in London’s exclusive Portman Square.
Translating this ambitious vision involved close creative collaboration with the client to realise its full potential, aesthetically and technically, requiring over 100 individual hand-finished pieces from wall to ceiling.
Bold yet sensitive artistry and meticulous engineering were essential to create the perfect balance of drama and elegance in the hotel’s public areas. A striking pendant crowned the restaurant lobby, complemented by hand-cut brass colonnade and wall fittings, their light dissipated through Spanish parchment.
Cabinet luminaires with hand-crafted brass frames and bespoke parchment shades offered classic counterpoints to glass tubular ceiling lights, while hand-cut bronze pendants with seeded glass shades illuminated the sushi bar. The overall effect was one of a refined, layered aesthetic, inspiring a sense of balance and grace throughout the space.
