Extensive Light Restoration – RAC Club Pall Mall, London

Working to designs by Mosaic Architecture + Design, we manufactured lighting that formed an integral part of the extensive restoration of the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall’s Great Gallery restaurant.

The aim was to enhance diners’ experience of the grandeur of the iconic classical interior, so updating existing lighting, as well as manufacturing new fittings, was vital to achieving the desired ambience.

Six bespoke hexagonal lanterns some 1m high were made in our factory from hand polished solid brass and fitted with custom made ribbed glass panels. Prior to installation, our finishing team lacquered the lanterns to ensure they maintain their high lustre.

Six bespoke floor lamps were also manufactured with hand turned walnut columns fitted with twisted brass ropes and completed with polished solid brass plinths.
This was the second Royal Automobile Club project that Dernier & Hamlyn has worked on with Mosaic Architecture having manufactured a range of new light fittings for Stirling’s restaurant at the Club at Woodcote Park.

Head of Interior Design at Mosaic Architecture Stuart Black says: “There are very few bespoke lighting manufacturers who provide the quality and workmanship offered by Dernier & Hamlyn. Our work for the Royal Automobile Club demanded excellence and once again they exceeded our expectations and both we and the client are delighted with the results.”
